Caring About Our Community
In keeping with Credit Union philosophy, "people helping people", Meadville Area Federal Credit Union gives back to our community through our Caring About Our Community Campaign. Each year since the campaign's inception in 2009, twelve organizations are chosen and donations are collected to be given to the organization of the month. Our goal is to raise at least $1,000.00 for each organization. Donations are collected in different ways. Members are asked to donate the change from their checks when cashing them, or a dollar when processing a transaction which goes to the campaign.The Credit Union also has fundraisers during the year to collect donations. These fund raisers have included 50/50 raffles, gift/theme basket raffles, bake sales, and lollipop trees. In addition, employees pay $1.00 each week for the privilege of wearing jeans to work on Friday.

- Autism Outreach of Crawford County
- Big Brothers and Sisters of Crawford County
- Boy and Girl Scouts of America
- CASA
- Crawford County ARC
- Keystone Blind Association
- Lions Club
- MMC Foundation - Breast Cancer Awareness
- Shriners Hospital
- Special Olympics of Crawford County
- Christmas for Kids/Elderly
- Crawford County Soup Kitchen
- MASH Caring Closet
Some of these organizations remain the same each year, and in addition to a monetary contribution, staff members participate or volunteer with annual events, such as Special Olympics, March of Dimes, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowl for Kids' Sake. Others are selected from nominations or written requests from the organizations to be a participant in our campaign. If you would like your organization to be considered, please submit a letter stating the name and address of your organization along with a brief bio of your organization and what your organization would do with the donation from our campaign if you were selected as a participant. Selection is based on the impact your organization has on our community as well as your plans for the donation that would be made to your organization. In order to be chosen for the next year, your requests must be received by November 30th of the preceding year.
