Update from C.E.O

Heather Clancy-Young, President/CEO
Happy New Year to you, your family and friends!
During this time of the year, we tend to find time to reflect on what is truly important to us. Rest assured that Meadville Area Federal Credit Union was founded over 60 years ago for exactly that reason"to focus on the financial needs and goals that are important to you so that you can focus on your other priorities.
We know that the financial soundness of MAFCU is important to our members. Even in a time of unprecedented economic changes and challenges, we have continued to grow, show a positive bottom line, and we have maintained a capital ratio that is well above the 7.00% that the NCUA, the federal regulator of our credit union, considers to be "well capitalized"--the highest rating. This means that you can trust that MAFCU remains safe, sound and standing by you. After all, at our not-for-profit credit union, members are at the top of our organizational chart.
Now more than ever, services that save money are a priority for our members. Our cost-saving services and low or no fees were one reason for our record member growth. More than 10,500 MAFCU members throughout Crawford County chose to join or remain with us because they save money every month, thanks to our checking accounts, competitive loan rates and other services designed to provide both quality and value.
As life continues to speed up, convenient access to services becomes increasingly important to our members. We make it easy for members to reach us in any and all ways that they choose: online, by phone and in person at our 2 branch locations. While other financial institutions were closing locations, we were setting ground to again expand our Charter and look to open another branch in 2010 to service our members even more. Plus, members know that they always have access to the knowledgeable and caring MAFCU representatives whom they know and trust.
Our members also choose to do business with us because MAFCU remains a dedicated community partner, giving back to organizations in the communities where our members live and work. That is why we have chosen to continue our Caring About our Community Campaign to reach out to twelve more worthy organizations in our area to support their causes.
As we look forward to the New Year, we want to emphasize that member service is, was and always will be what is most important to MAFCU. We celebrate your loyalty and are honored by the opportunity to serve you.
Wishing you all the best for 2010,
Heather Clancy-Young
President and CEO.
